The Annual Fund

The success of the Annual Fund comes from the spirit of shared experience and mutual encouragement created by Frostburg supporters of all generations. This success is essential to Frostburg State University’s ability to provide quality educational experiences to students of all backgrounds.

The Annual Fund offers significant flexibility in how FSU can address its most immediate needs. Unrestricted gifts—gifts not designated for a specific purpose—allow the University to fund areas of critical need and to take advantage of unexpected opportunities that will benefit the University. FSU relies on these unrestricted gifts to remain financially secure and able to meet the greatest needs of our students, faculty and alumni. The Annual Fund supports everything from student employment and alumni programs to faculty development and innovative programs.

In fiscal year 2009 the FSU Foundation’s Annual Fund received over 1,600 pledges and gifts for a total of more than $190,000. Many of these pledges were collected by students who made over 15,000 phone calls during the annual FSU Phonathon.

Last year our donors increased the impact of their gifts by contacting their personnel/human resources offices to take advantage of a matching gift program. More than 1,000 companies match their employees' gifts to institutions of higher education. Matching gifts can double and even triple your gift to Frostburg State University. Contact your company's personnel/human resources office to find out if your gift can be matched. Please obtain a matching gift form and send it in with your gift.
